CUMMINS MERCRUISER DIESEL ANNOUNCES OPENING OF EUROPEAN SALES HEADQUARTERS

"Cummins MerCruiser Diesel is pleased to announce the opening of a sales office based in Bordeaux, France" said Gary Dickman, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for CMD. "The Bordeaux office will be responsible for developing and implementing CMD’s growth strategies in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The Bordeaux based team will report directly to Jean Pierre Goudant, who recently accepted the position of General Manager of CMD Europe (CMD-E). Our distribution strategy is evolving quickly and we have made distribution decisions concerning the 13 major markets in Europe which represent the bulk of our sales opportunities. We intend to announce our distribution strategy for these markets in the near future,” said Mr. Dickman.

Scott Patrohay, President and CEO of Cummins MerCruiser Diesel headquartered in the USA said “Marine Power Europe and Cummins Engine Company (Europe) will form a new joint venture called Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Europe (CMD-E). The new joint venture will leverage the considerable capabilities of the parent organizations across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East,” said Mr. Patrohay. "At an early stage we recognized that CMD would need the support and involvement of the parent companies in the areas of logistics, administrative services, sales support, service support and distribution management. By forming CMD-E, we will ensure the involvement of the parent companies by providing the appropriate profit opportunity for services provided on behalf of CMD. Our goal is to build on the base of business we have already established in Europe by supporting our regional CMD-E teams and direct OEM account customers through our Bordeaux sales team,” said Mr. Patrohay.
