(Charleston, SC) – Cummins MerCruiser Diesel (CMD) will play the lead sponsorship role in a month-long journey through one of the world’s most celebrated cruising regions – the Inside Passage. Grand Banks owners are cruising to Alaska from the Northwest as part of Grand Banks 50th Anniversary Celebration.

“For many Grand Banks owners, this will be the ultimate cruising experience as they tuck into coves and harbors too intimate for cruise ships,” notes Gary Dickman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at CMD. “We participate in rendezvous worldwide and thoroughly enjoy meeting and listening to customers who depend on our diesel engines to get them to their destination and home again.”

The month long cruise begins mid May in Poets Cove, British Columbia ranked one of the top ten anchorages in the Western Hemisphere, noted for its luxurious, secluded natural beauty. Cruisers will mix informative seminars that enhance their yachting experience with the exhilaration of visiting one breath taking anchorage after another.

“We’re proud to be the platinum sponsor for this milestone event,” said Scott Patrohay, CMD President. “Grand Banks customers have a confidence level in their yachts and CMD diesel engines that permits this kind of cruise experience. With CMD’s worldwide support, Grand Banks’ owners are able to come away with a deeper appreciation of this beautiful area.”

Grand Banks CEO Bob Livingston was pleased to have CMD as the major sponsor. “Grand Banks offers a wide range of Cummins MerCruiser Diesel engines in many of our boats. Their Quantum Series technology offers numerous advantages in performance and efficiency, which makes CMD an ideal choice for our customers.”

Based in Charleston, South Carolina (USA), Cummins MerCruiser Diesel is responsible for designing, manufacturing and providing reliable after-sales support worldwide for marine products. It offers a broad range of power, with available ratings from 120-715HP for recreational applications and 77-588HP for commercial use.
