CMD Announces Distribution Partner – Cummins U K

Cummins MerCruiser Diesel today announced that Cummins UK will become the exclusive distribution channel partner for UK and Ireland to include the complete CMD product line of inboard and sterndrive marine propulsion engines, effective 1 January 2008.

Prior to this point, distribution in the region had been split between Cummins UK and E.P. Barrus Ltd. “Both Barrus and Cummins UK have done an excellent job with distribution for CMD,” said Gary Dickman, VP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. “We look forward to working with Cummins UK, as we clarify our approach to simplified customer support in a global market."

With a central parts warehouse and 14 locations across the UK and Ireland, including the newly opened Marine Centre at Swanwick Marina on the Hamble River, Cummins UK will provide sales, aftermarket support and backup for the entire CMD engine population in the region, offering both in-house and mobile service and maintenance, using genuine parts and consumables.

Based in Charleston, South Carolina (USA), Cummins MerCruiser Diesel is responsible for designing, manufacturing and providing reliable after-sales support worldwide for marine products. CMD offers a broad range of power, with available engine ratings from 115-715 HP for recreational applications and 76-715 HP for commercial use.
