The Earthrace: Racing Around the World for a Better Planet

CMD Powers Earthrace with Twin QSC8.3-540 Engines

Earthrace is a bid to break the world record for circumnavigating the globe in a powerboat, while using only renewable fuels. The program includes an 18-month tour calling at 60 of the worlds greatest cities, promoting fuels similar to biodiesel, and raising awareness about the sustainable use of resources.

Not only does the vessel use environmentally friendly biodiesel fuel, but it has been specifically designed to perform at top speeds in the world's toughest ocean conditions, and at times will even submarine right through ocean waves.
